RN
to BSN Program: One hallmark of the BSN program
is that there is no testing of prior nursing knowledge
if the RN is in good standing within the state of
practice. The BSN program is designed to develop
the professional knowledge and skills of working
registered nurses.
The curriculum is built upon a foundation
of biological, physical, and social sciences, which
contribute to the science of nursing. The liberal
arts components enhance the development of the intellectual,
social, and cultural aspects of the professional
nurse.
The program enhances the foundation
in the biological, physical, and social sciences
through an instructional program with behavioral
objectives that concentrate on the development of
the nurse's role as caregiver, teacher, and manager
of care. Utilizing a self-care framework, working
registered nurses are prepared as generalists who
are able to apply professional skills and knowledge
to nursing, clients, and health care systems.
